Email worth $7,500!

I wrote to one of my favorite colleges this weekend to ask what they could do to help a colleagues daughter afford college. The response was their standard (but generous!) offer plus – since I asked nicely – “I might be able to squeeze another grand (maybe $1,500) out of my boss.”

Multiply that by 4 or 5 years and that email (and kind response) is suddenly worth as much as $7,500.
